Sustainability at BROEN-LAB
At BROEN-LAB, sustainability is an integral part of how we develop our solutions, operate our business, and create long-term value. Our approach is structured around ESG (Environment, Social, Governance), ensuring responsibility is embedded in both strategy and daily operations.
In 2025, we continued to strengthen our efforts with a focus on transparency, data quality, and measurable improvements across the organisation.
Environment - Reducing our footprint
We work systematically to minimise our environmental impact and optimise resource efficiency:
- CO₂ emissions: 250 tCO₂e (Scope 1 & 2), with improved reporting methodology
- Energy efficiency: Continuous optimisation of production and office energy use
- Water withdrawal: 933 m³, with no operations in water-stressed areas
- Waste management: 0% landfill in 2025 and significant improvements in recycling and sorting
We continue to assess opportunities to reduce emissions and increase the share of renewable energy.
Social – People at the core
Our employees and local communities are fundamental to our success:
- 0 workplace accidents resulting in absence in 2025 (LTIR = 0.0)
- 70 employees (FTE) with a focus on diversity and equal opportunities
- 35% covered by collective agreements
- Active initiatives supporting inclusion through flex jobs, internships, and job training
- Recognised by the Municipality of Assens for social responsibility
We prioritise a safe, inclusive, and engaging workplace, with ongoing focus on employee development and well-being.
Governance – Responsible business conduct
Strong governance ensures long-term performance and trust:
- ESG anchored at the highest level of the organisation
- ISO 14001 certification and EcoVadis Bronze rating
- Clear focus on ethics, compliance, and responsible supply chain management
- Continuous development of governance structures and reporting quality
Looking ahead
In 2025, we conducted a structured environmental mapping to identify future improvement areas. This forms the foundation for new targets for 2026–2028, with continued focus on:
- Reducing emissions and resource consumption
- Increasing circularity
- Strengthening data transparency and reporting
- Integrating sustainability across the value chain
