Pure 5.0 and 6.0 gases

The application of pure gases in the various industrial, medical, research and educational sectors is quite common.  Pure gases play an important role in environmental analysis, material science and chemistry. The largest part of pure gases are used as a carrier gas in gas chromatography and mass spectrometry.

Depending on the required quality of the gas and applications gases can be produced with different purity coefficient. Purity coefficient is defined by two digits showing the gas purity in volume (%). The first digit defines the amount of 9s and the second digit defines the digit after the last 9. For example, Helium 5.0 means 99,999% pure gas and Helium 5.5 means 99,9995% pure gas. Depending on the purity coefficient it is possible to find out the maximum amount of impurities in the given gas.
